Deadline: July 1, 2010
Scrapbooking
By Style: In each issue of Scrapbook News and Review Magazine, we spotlight scrapbook pages by style and genre. We’re currently looking for pages in traditional paper scrapbooking that feature a clearly defined style such as Clean and Simple, Dark and Industrial, Eclectic and Freestyle, Romance and Pretty Chic, Whimsical or Fantasy, and others just ripe for the picking. Please submit at least three to five layouts that you feel best represents your work and explain in a few brief sentences what style you feel best describes your work.

Ad Inspired: We often take inspiration from many sources including sketches, challenges and magazines. This month, we challenge you to use an advertisement as your inspiration for your project. It can be for any occasion and you can choose any ad as your inspiration. Please note that if your artwork is selected for publication, we will contact you for a picture of the ad you used, so keep it handy.
Birthdays: Everyone has one and they’re often lots of fun! For this call we’re looking for cute and perky to loud and quirky and everything in between.
Layering Patterned Paper: Hoarders beware, this call is for those who have no fear of laying it on thick. Projects for this call need to include lots of patterned paper and preferably in unique ways.
Military or Service People: They’re the glue that keeps our country going and we want to shine the spotlight on those who serve, whether it’s in the armed forces or something closer to home like fire and rescue, police men and women, EMT’s, etc. Send in your hero today!
Using Song Lyrics: Music colors our world in so many ways. From inspiring to moody, it can change the feel of or stir up the emotions on any project. For this call, we’re looking for projects that feature the whole song, the title, the chorus or just a line here and there. Please reference the song you’re highlighting.
Vacations to American Cities: This month, since it’s our birthday, we’re paying homage to America and we want to see all your lovingly made layouts and mini albums starring any city in America.

Cards
Ad Inspired: As card makers, we often take inspiration from many sources including sketches, challenges and magazines. American Comfort Food Recipe Cards: Recipe cards are a fabulous way to use your crafting supplies. Custom made recipe cards not only share their wonderful art, but also the recipe. These gems quickly become treasured keepsakes, make great gifts, and are addictive to make. So let’s see your recipe cards – and not just any recipes will do. We’re looking for true American Comfort food.
Faith Full: We’re looking for cards of faith. They can be of any topic, but must include items such as scripture verses and/or religious imagery.
Oh, Boy!: We’re on the hunt for masculine cards. Young, old or anywhere in between, masculine cards can be both fun and challenging, but we’re know you’re up to it. Come wow us!
Old Hollywood: Black-and-white movies and the silver screen. Old Hollywood is all about romance and chic sophistication of an age long past. Thus, we’re looking for cards using old photos, that have an old-time movie feel, or are just inspired by the glamour and nostalgia of cinema at its best.
Rub-ons: They’re quick, easy and come in all sorts of styles, but they’re not just for scrapbooking. This month, we want to see card creations that focus on using rub-ons as the star of the show. They can be of any theme or celebration or whatever tickles your muse.
Setting the Stage -- A Boy’s Birthday Party: We love using our supplies for more than just cards! Using your paper goodies, make something associated with a boy’s birthday party such as invitations, party favors, decorations, gift bags, present or cake toppers, etc. Whatever strikes your fancy!

Stamping
Please Note: Stamping projects can include anything you stamp on, such as cards, ATCs, inchies, arches, collage, mixed media or whatever fires your imagination.
Modern & Graphic: It’s all about style and imagination! You’re welcome to use any stamp or theme you like. The only requirement is that it be of Modern & Graphic style.
Red, White & Blue Embossing Powders: You can either show us your patriotic spirit of just be creative and play. Your project doesn’t have to have a 4th of July or American theme; it just has to feature red, white or blue embossing powder in some way and fashion. It also doesn’t need to have all three on one card. It need only feature one color loud and proud of a combo of the three.
Stamping on Fabric: The focus is stamping on fabric and you can dress it up any way you like. We’re looking for any type of project that uses fabric in some way or another and gets a little inky!
Unique Surfaces: Are you the type of stamper who stamps on just about everything that doesn’t move? Then here’s your chance to shine! We’re looking for projects that feature stamping on everything but cardstock. Think clear acrylic, metal, chipboard, flowers, transparencies, microscope slides, CDs, mirrors. Heck, even sandpaper and cork. What will you stamp on?

Artist Trading Cards
Inspired by Song: From rock n’ roll to classical, it’s all good, especially when you use it as an inspirational springboard. For this call, we’re looking for ATC’s that are either inspired by a song or feature the title or lyrics of a song.
Stars in the Sky: Decisions, decisions. There are so many possibilities with this one. Wish upon a star, twinkle twinkle little star, the night sky, a shining star, starlight, northern lights, the stars in your eyes. Which direction will you head in? Send your starry ATC’s in for all to see.
Strut Your Stuff: Let your mind wander and create ATC’s with your own theme and muse in mind. This free-for-all category allows you to submit your lovingly made ATC’s with any topic or technique in mind.

Digital
Hometown Landmarks: What represents your hometown? A favorite destination, a historic building, a natural feature? Share your landmarks with us and what they mean to you.
Picnics/BBQ’s: The temperature is rising and the grills are firing up! Whether it’s a weekend at the lake, a family reunion, a company picnic, or just dinner on the patio, summer means barbecues and picnics. We want to see your digital layouts showcasing good food, good fun and good company.
Text on Photos: Adding text to your photos is an easy way to add impact to a layout. We’re looking for digital and hybrid layouts that feature text on photographs.
Using Digital Alphas: A mainstay for titles on digital layouts, digital alphas can help convey your message and serve as a wonderful design element. Show us how you use digital alphas on your digital or hybrid layouts.

Digital Three for All -- Beach Photos: Send us a group of three photos and our digital staff will create fabulous digital layouts starring your photos. The photos must be digital or scanned and not violate any copyrights. Please add a short description about the photos such as event(s), date(s), place(s), etc. We’ll use this information on our layouts to tell us your unique story!

Child of the... 80's: Were you a child of the eighties? Or do you have family members that were a part of the eighties? Child of the . . . is a new series that will focus each month on a different decade and showcase what it was like to be a child, teen or adult of each time period. Projects can include music, events, fashion or anything that is representative of that era.
