{31 Day of Challenges- Day 28} Make Your own Carpet Fresh

I have one dog(German Shepard) and let me tell you she can be stinky especially when its raining or snowing outside. She comes in wet and it smells especially on the carpets.   Carpet powder is one thing that is a must have in my cleaning closet. They can be expensive but sometimes the smell does not last even if you leave it on the carpets for 2 hours. Use a empty  Parmesan cheese container, or some other shaker like carpet powder container you last used. What you will need: Empty container or some other shaker Baking soda* Essential oils* * If your machine get clogged to easily then you can use epsom salt with the essential oils * If you don't like using the oils then you can replace with ground spices like ground clove or nutmeg * You can add a few teaspoons of Borax to repel flies from the carpets  1/2 Cup of Baking Soda and 20-25 drops of essentials oils (or 1-2 teaspoons of spices) into a container. Mix it well. Pour into the shaker. Sprin

{31 Day Challenges- Day 27} Muffin Tin Mini Pumpkin Pies

I had a Halloween party last weekend at my house and it was a lot of fun. I love to cook and bake especially at parties. I wanted to make a pumpkin pie but was not in the mood to make a pie per say so I made mini ones and it was a big hit. This recipe is easy to make and something the kids can help or do it themselves. Ingredients 4" mini pie shells or 2 pk Pillsbury pie crust 3/4 cups of sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon of cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract 2 large eggs, room temperature 1 can of pumpkin puree 1 can of evaporated milk pure whip 4" Circle cutter Preheat oven at 425 Step One: Roll out the dough then press the cookie cutter over the dough. I rolled up the left over dough and continued making circles till there was nothing left. I made about 18 mini pies with this recipe. S tep Two: Stretch a little the circles to be wider for the muffin tins S

{31 Day Challenges- Day 26} Organizing Your Freezer

Did you ever have a moment when you opened the freezer something hurled at you and you got hurt? Well I know it happened to me a lot of times till I figured a way for it to not to happen. The best way for me is to  Freeze things flat.  Put that leftover chili in a freezer bag, seal, and lay the bag flat in the freezer until frozen. Flat things of an even thickness are easier to stack or organize   upright in a container. Looking into your organized freezer, you will be able to know what you have so you can plan your meals for week or what you need to get at the grocery store.  When you flatten the food either its raw or leftovers,  its a good idea to label and date them. Some items have a few months of shelf life but you want to make sure whats in there. Always rotate the items in the freezer when you buy so you can use up whats in there before use the fresher ones. Invest on freezer bags and plastic containers for your freezer. It will benefit you in the long run.

{31 Days of Challenge- Day 25} Upcycle cd's or dvd's

Do you have old cd's or dvd's hanging around and piling up. Here is a great way using them in your projects.  Step One: Stamp on black Stazon and press it gently over the cd/dvd. Let it dry or use a heating gun.  Step Two: Cut the dvd/cd in half with a xacto knife. Be very careful and use gloves if needed.  Step Three: Add masking or duck tape to the bottom, to cover up the sharp part of the cd/dvd. Then you are ready to use it on your prject. Its so easy and fun to do. Another way is decoupage it or use embossing powder with it.  Thanks for looking and share!

{31 Days Challenge- Day 16} Cleaning Tip- Auto Vent Sticks

Not just for Cars... Image from google You probably have seen those auto vent sticks and used them in your car vents to eliminate odors and keep the car smelling great. You can find them at any store that has an auto department even your local dollar store. These vent sticks aren't just for the car but in your own heating vents at home. Now that the weather is changing, we will soon be turning the heat on. We have a dog and let me tell you, it does not smell great over here when it rains especially with a wet dog around carpets. These little suckers have changed my somewhat OCD and even use these guys on the air conditioners in the summer. Before you add them to your heating vent or air conditioner clean it. Every few months the vents need to be cleaned especially from dust, debris and build up. Image from google Heating Vents Remove covers and vacuum inside the heating vents Use a cheap foam brush or paint brush to dust between the heating ve
