{Tutorial} Tussie-Mussie

Tussie-Mussie By Lucy Chesna Tussie-mussies are floral arrangements that was used during the Victorian period were known as the “talking bouquets.” They were give in a pretty metal or embellished paper cone at the beginning of a romance or courtship to convey a special meaning, they were also presented as gifts on other special occasions or just to say thank you to someone special.  They are easy to make, and can be made to fit any theme. You can make your own tussie-mussie this Valentine’s Day with some very simple supplies. Supplies: Ruler Pencil Scissors A piece of pretty double-sided 12x12 cardstock Various sizes of paper to create flowers Double sided tape or clear glue Hot glue A Hole punch Ribbon or trim Embellishments Flowers- add or create your own 1 medium size Styrofoam ball cut in half Directions: Step 1: Trim a 12x12 piece of cardstock in half, diagonally. {Recipe} Zucchini Chocolate Chip Muffins

Picture credit-internet INGREDIENTS: 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 3/4 cup white sugar 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 egg, lightly beaten 1/2 cup vegetable oil 1/4 cup milk 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 cup shredded zucchini 1/2 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips 1/2 cup chopped walnuts DIRECTIONS: 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease 12 muffin cups, or line with paper muffin liners. 2. Combine flour, sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl. Mix egg, oil, milk, lemon juice, and vanilla extract in a bowl; stir into dry ingredients until just moistened. Fold in zucchini, chocolate chips, and walnuts. Fill prepared muffin cups 2/3 full. 3. Bake in preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean, 20 to 25 minutes.

{Tutorial} Faux Burnt Edges

Faux Burnt Edges   By Lucy Chesna Learning new techniques is one of my favorite things to do in scrapbooking and I’ll try anything once, even if I feel a little apprehensive about it. There is a certain one that I fell in love with and use it a good amount on my layouts and cards and it’s creating a burned edge look. I’ll show you how easy it can be done. My Mom and Her Parents by Lucy Chesna Supplies Patterned Paper: Basic Grey; Die Cuts: Basic Grey;Stickers: Basic Grey; Rhinestones: Hero Arts; Ink: Ranger; Punches: EK Success; Tool: Ranger Supplies: Pattern paper Distress tool Ink blending tool and foams Distress Inks (Tea Dye, Walnut Stain and Black Soot)    Step One: Tear the paper around all four edges to get a textured look    Step Two: Take your distress tool and distress the edges until you achieve the texture you want. Turning 43

Yep its Today............43 years old!!!! So many changes will coming on my way and I am very excited. My love for scrapbooking will always be there but things have switched a bit and need to focus on a career. I have been going to school, working part time and taking care of my family. Its been hectic but I wouldn't change for the world. I am blessed to have an amazing husband, children and my faith.
